Dr. Eid, the founder of Expert Medical Navigation, achieved board certification in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery and practiced in medical centers in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Prior to relocating to New England, he was a founding member of the Indiana Heart Hospital, one of the first “paperless” hospitals in the nation. He has published in the field of Vascular Surgery and has given multiple talks about vascular disease prevention and management.
Since 2002, Dr. Eid Founded and directed the Primacare Center for Vascular Diseases in Fall River, MA, which recently became the first center in Massachusetts to offer office-based invasive interventions. He also founded the Vascular Surgery department at Steward’s Saint Anne’s Hospital, where he currently serves as Chairman of Surgery. In 2014, he was appointed as Chief of the Vascular Surgery services at Charter CARE’s Roger Williams Hospital in Rhode Island, where he is organizing a multidisciplinary team of physicians treating vascular diseases. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the New England Society for Vascular Surgery and the Society for Medical Decision Making.
He is fluent in English, Arabic, French, and conversant in Portuguese.
Dr. Eid has experienced firsthand the frequent disconnect among medical specialists caring for the same patient, along with the lack of reliable information available to patients facing major health decisions. “If more than one therapy is appropriate for a certain condition”, he says, “the patient should be choosing which one to undergo, and that is according to how each option fits his or her particular situation. It is unfortunate that when the patient relegates his choice to the system, the system tends to favor the invasive and expensive choice.”
That led Dr. Eid to develop the program that Expert Medical navigation offers. EMN gives patients the ability to pick treatments, Doctors, and Hospitals, armed with the right knowledge of medicine and consumer savviness.
As important as EMN’s mission of serving patients, Dr. Eid says, “EMN will allow Doctors to be what they really signed up to be: Advocates, and not Providers!”
